Weather: Sunny then cloudy. Light northeasterly winds. Warm
Raptor Observations: A good mix of raptors but relatively low numbers. Highlights included 5 Ospreys, 11 sharpies, 5 kestrels, and 2 merlins. Only 3 broad-wings. Most migrants were high and difficult to spot, though the afternoon clouds helped.
Hawk Watch: 13 Wood Ducks, Common Nighthawk, Double-crested Cormorant, Philadelphia Vireo, 2 Common Ravens, Lincoln's Sparrow, 5 monarchs
New species for season: Wood Duck, Swainson's Thrush, Lincoln's Sparrow
Predictions: Tomorrow: Cloudy. Slight chance of a shower. High 74F. Winds NE at 10-20mph. Decent conditions overall, but easterly winds are usually not favorable for us to get broad-wings. Clouds will help with spotting.
Wednesday: Cloudy with occasional rain showers. High 69F. Winds NE at 10-15mph. Chance of rain 50%. Gloomy conditions may hold back the flight.
Thursday: Cloudy early then partial clearing. Winds NNW at 5-10mph. Decent conditions.
