An action packed and exciting day on Coon !!
The Broadwing show was simply incredible today! Great flight lines once
again for us with most of today's flight tight to either side of the ridge,
with
the majority of the birds passing directly over the top of the watch site.
We had over 2000 BW's pass the watch site between 12:30pm-1:30pm.
There was a river of Broadwings that was 4 binocular fields of view wide
loaded with Broadwings top to bottom in that view that lasted for
almost 25 minutes !!! It was just crazy awesome !!!
Broadwings started moving past the watch site in triple digit numbers
at 9:00am and that pace held steady thru 5:00pm
Many thanks to our visitors Rick, Barry, and Padraig for the spotting
help.
Counter Phil Rodriguez put on a spotting "clinic" today. Great job Phil.
Scott Wood was also pulling birds out of the sky for us ! Way to go
Scottie!
Our Bird(s) of the Day selection goes to every single Broadwing that graced
us
with their presence today !!! Just spectacular !!!

Non-raptor Observations:
RT Hummingbird- 4
Monarch- 22
RB Nuthatch- 3
TV's & BV's
Bluejays
Eastern Towhee
Ravens-3
