Hi all,
Dominik very kindly pointed out that the bird I saw at Potrero Rec center could be a Chestnut-sided Warbler in first fall plumage. After viewing photos online and comparing to what I saw I think he is correct.
The bird had an eye-ring (not really a clear white supercilium) and the olive green appeared to come up onto the nape and crown. Wingbars were present, not super bright but I think more than a Tennessee would have. White or very pale grey belly and undertail coverts. The bill appeared quite stout and pointy. No chestnut anywhere on the bird but now I know - first fall Chestnut-sided don't have chestnut!
Sorry for the confusion and thank you for putting up with me as a new-to-SF birder.
