First seen by Alison Helm on 12 September, the juvenile Tricolored Heron was visible this morning on the beach and mudflats visible from the west end of the interpretive trail: 32.63912, -117.11434. The Sweetwater Marsh Unit of the San Diego Bay NWR is open and accessible by a free shuttle, Wednesday to Sunday, 10a-5p.
