Subject: [BostonBirds] 9/10 American Bitterns and Kestrels at Belle Isle Marsh in E. Boston
Yesterday, I birded at Belle Isle Marsh in East Boston from 3:00- 5:30, and again from 7:00-8:00 p.m. I'm glad I went back after eating at Angela's Cafe across from Orient Heights Station on the Blue Line, for that is when I saw the two American Bitterns:

American Bitterns 2 seen while scanning for Northern Harriers out towards Winthrop. They flew by and dropped into marsh grasses
Black-crowned night-Heron 4 dusk and a bit beyond; singles and pair
Great Blue Heron 4
Snowy Egret 30
Great Egret 15
Osprey 2
American Kestrel 2 in tree along Kilmartin Path, facing the marsh; seen from Belle Isle
Semipalmated Plover 1
Least Sandpiper 1
peep sp. 4
Greater Yellowlegs 1
Lesser Yellowlegs 8
Short-billed Dowitcher 1
Belted Kingfisher 1 male
