Subject: Clarion and Warren Co - Red-breasted nuthatches
I saw Kim Springer mention increased numbers of RB nuthatches last
week but there definitely seems to be a good movement of them. Last Wed at
camp in Warren Co I had at least 10 on just a mile walk or so, likely more
as they were calling everywhere and I had trouble keeping track. One was
calling at camp for the first in a good while and we've had a couple at
home the last couple weeks. This morning on the RVT outside Rimersburg I
counted at least 5 in less than a mile. So hopefully I will get to enjoy
seeing them more this winter.

I've had some nice warblers coming through but not hearing much in
migrating thrush calls yet for some reason. I'll be traveling for the best
part of the month but hopefully can enjoy the back end of migration on
return.

Good fall birding,
