Cuesta Inlet is an eBird hotspot. Access to Cuesta Inlet had been threatened. This 13-acre parcel of land, which is partially underwater, is privately owned but had been open to the public for almost thirty years. In 2022 it was offered for sale, with an initial listing price of $1,000,000 until the owners agreed to accept the appraised value of $735,000. The non-profit organization "Save Cuesta Inlet" was successful in raising the money for the purchase. Escrow is to close on October 1, 2025.
