Hi all,
Please keep in mind that the large grassy park along the creek between
Melrose and San Elijo (“Hunter Park”) is considered private property by the
company(s) occupying the office space, and they do have roaming security. I
have tried in the past to get permissions for people without Hunter
Industries keycards to visit the area on their own, with no luck.

The further west you go along the creek, it may become public again but
when speaking with security in the past they were not able to tell me where
that cut off is.

I’m currently roaming the general area on my lunch break, but of course I
have no binoculars today and only 30minutes, so no luck so far.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
