Location: Baylands Park, near the Picnic Area, Sunnyvale, CA Date/Time: September 6, 2025 – 10:30 a.m. Observation Notes: Two Red-tailed Hawks observed circling overhead, vocalizing. Shortly afterward, a larger raptor entered the area. Broad wings with noticeable white patches at the base of the primaries, along with overall structure and flight profile, consistent with juvenile Golden Eagle. What a wonderful surprise.
