Last night we had 4 Common Nighthawks, beginning around 7:15 PM with a flyover in nice light, offering an excellent view to the roughly 20 avid observers. Many thanks to the person who spotted it! We finished with a low flyby of two about about 7:55 PM. Other species spotted include Peregrine Falcon (second night in a row), Cooper's Hawk, and both Great Egret and Great Blue Heron flyovers!
An update from Tuesday night - one participant did have four (4) nighthawks, and folks who stayed later than we did were rewarded with sighting of two American Woodcock!
The final night of this year's count is tonight, beginning at 6 PM, again at the parking lot of the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, 195 New Karner Road, Albany. Hope to see you there!
