Raptor Observations: BE- 12:07I Another beautiful weather day on the ridge. Although I only tallied 8 raptors today, 6 different species were represented. Very cool ! Nice looks at all of the migrating raptors today. Our first Merlin of the season almost snuck by without being detected. It came in well below eye level on the reservoir side and just happened to pop up right at the watch site as it powered down ridge. Super close ! No bins required ! My Bird of the Day selection goes to the gorgeous immature female Harrier that did 2 lazy circles just off ridge on the river side slightly below eye level. An outstanding study of this beauty before she slowly cruised down ridge.
