Subject: [GABO-L] George Pierce Park Herons (Gwinnett)
Hello! My Mum Liza and I just birded at George Pierce Park, and we were not
disappointed - 33 species plus a lot of dragonflies. But we especially did
rather well in the heron department.

In the main wetlands, there was, in addition to the usual Great Blue Heron
and Green Heron, a Great Egret, four LITTLE BLUE HERONS (three immature and
one adult, my first adult LBHE at this park), and even a young
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, my first at this park as well. As if that
weren’t enough, there was also a WHITE IBIS working the area! Oh and the
usual Killdeer as well.

Not bad eh? Happy Summer Birding!
