Shocking, isn't it? She was in my tree forty feet away. I watched her and have piles of feathers on the lawn to confirm its identity. I didn't see her catch it; maybe it was already dead or wounded.

Subject: [birders] hawk fledglings Yesterday, the female Cooper's Hawk ate one of the fledglings. I haven't seen the male in a long time. What they haven't eaten has left the neighborhood. Insects are the only flying creatures in my yard now.
