- Comments: "Adult was noticeably smaller than nearby California Gulls. This bird showed a dark black bill with yellow tip, very dark gray (almost black) hood from upper nape to throat with a dark black border also extending from upper nape to throat. The breast, lower nape, neck and underparts were white, the back was solid gray with white wing border and dark black primaries with narrow white markings. The bird was observed loafing near shore of Oak Knoll Creek lagoon. We were not able to determine if the bird was sick or injured."
