The continuing Stilt Sandpiper continues at 7:35 a.m. But the birds are periodically flushed by a hunting peregrine falcon, but they have now currently settled in in the West Central part of pond 22 along the shore of the island on the west-middle of the pond. A good scope is absolutely essential. The views are only so-so. The problem is if the bird is back in the Southeast corner of the pond that one can only see that by looking down the South shore to the southeast corner from off the end of 13th, and if you attempt to walk down the bike path to where you're adjacent to the southeast corner, then the saltworks berm road blocks your view unless the bird walks far enough North up the East shore. Also, be aware that when the bird was first reported late yesterday, it sounds like it was in the southwest corner of Pond 22. By and large the bird is with Willets and Wilson's Phalaropes.
