This morning at 6:05 AM I noticed a bird, in one of the trees strapped to
the deck, completing the ablutions from taking a bath. I assumed it was a
female Carolina Wren as there was a male signing nearby. Then it popped
down on the deck and walked right up to the slider, looking for insects. I
called to Linda “WATERTHRUSH CAMERA!” and she promptly arrived to take his
picture. Unfortunately I got in trouble with Ebird and was unable to add a
photo.
It now appears that the bird is coming to one of the three bird baths in
the yard, specifically the one in the middle of the garden, which is 20
feet from the deck. It did rain last night, but that may have no effect.
I tried to open the slider to get a better photo but the bird took flight
into the nearby woods. If anyone wants, I can send them a photo. The bird
may like plastic; the color of which is labeled “River Rock”!
