Subject: [CT Birds] Great Blue Herons eat more than seafood

I agree with Chris, especially since I watched a Great Blue Heron feasting on voles at Bauer Farm in Madison several times last Fall. See my eBird checklist for photos: https://ebird.org/checklist/S200204806 (caution: not for the faint of heart).

Amazing to watch; but not for the voles!

Good morning,
My neighbor just texted me that there is Great Blue Heron in the back yard.
It is just walking around . This is a condo complex in Niantic. We both
live close to a marsh, not sure why it is hanging out in the yard. I am not
sure if it is injured as I am at work in New Haven. Any idea why it would
stay in a yard?
