Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] wood stork quandary
I photographed a Wood Stork about a half-hour ago in private ponds within
the Prado Basin (RIV CO). So, either 'Woodrow' made a hasty short-term
visit to the Safari Park a week ago, or there could be a love match should
these two birds meet later in the fall (mostly kidding). I obtained good
photos today and could likely determine if only one bird is involved if
equally good photos were taken last week in San Diego. Of course, if the
Safari Park bird is still there, no comparisons are necessary.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
