Hi all, Man, this weekend's Redwood Region Audubon pelagic was amazing for Murphy's Petrel studies: sunny, enough wind to get them flying, and a few circled the boat for amazingly close looks and photo ops! We had around 12 total individuals and ALL of them were from 12-15 miles west of the Humboldt Bay entrance over the shelf. We never even made it to the Eel River Canyon since it's usually a rougher ocean there. Pretty weird!
Anyways, I have plenty of space available for this weekend's 28 June pelagic trip on the Steller Sunrise. Tristan McKee and Aidan Brubaker will be co-leading with me. Contact me offline for a spot and I can also put you on my pelagic list to get updates on future trips.
