Subject: [ia-bird] Marbled Godwits at Hawkeye Wildlife Area
This morning, I scoped a distant pair of MARBLED GODWITS across from the James Ave. shoreline.
They took to the air making their cinnamon underwings quite visible, so I was able to make a positive identification. Hawkeye's water levels were just high enough to cover all the mud flats, so the long-legged godwits were the only shorebirds around.
