The male Scarlet tanager just to the right of the main entrance to Point Loma Nazarene University was seen and photographed off and on between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., during which time it did a bit of singing and calling. It's M.O. during that period Was burying itself in the dense ficus tree over the dirt path as you walk North from the main entrance kiosk to the campus, so something like the 5th or 6th tree down the path, but then it would come feed on bees in the tree right before that which sort of looks like a Catalina Cherry, or go to the end of the parking lot down the path to a couple pines and an oak and then come back. It spent quite a bit of time in those pines and oaks at the North end of the parking lot during the last period. We watched it just before noon. Best views are actually from the parking lot rather than from the path.
