Just after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Tom Simpson and Steve Lister found a male Scarlet Tanager just inside and to the right of the main entrance for Point Loma Nazarene University. At about 10:00 a.m. I was able to refind the bird with them in the same area. So, go to the right at the main campus entrance station and check that whole area there in the pines and ficus and sycamores. When they had the bird just after 8:00, they said it was singing a little bit, but we've heard it say nothing. It's actually fairly sneaky, so thank goodness it's brilliant red and black, But it can still hide fairly easily.
Still one pewee in the Catalina Cherry. A 1-year-old common Tern down at Emory Cove on South San Diego Bay.
