I've written in past years about Loggerhead Shrikes nesting at my place in NE Custer Co. and not tolerating other birds in the yard. This spring is different, perhaps even the elusive "exception that proves the rule." Shrikes are not nesting here this spring, and I've seen one in the general area only a couple times. Here is a list of the birds that are in and around the yard, all possibilities for nesting:
