- Comments: "*Rare ... Looks like a handful summers in SLO…late 1st/early 2nd-cyc. Larger paler CAGU with longer legs and bill, longer pp, fine nape/neck streaking, etc. Very HERGy bird compared to most we’ve seen in summer. Odd and pale as they tend to be at this time of year. Pics"

Black head and upperside, red triangle on breast, pale pink bill, black and white wings, white underside and rump, and mostly black tail with white corners. Pinkish-red underwing coverts seen well in flight. Song slower, smoother, and more whistly than black-headed."
