There are some water and stream unbridged crossings (fords) on some, but not all, of the NWR roads, some streams are bridged. Caution and some prior experience may be required or at least be recommended to drive across some of the streams in a lower clearance vehicle depending on the water levels, and conditions, etc.
A stop at the Visitor Center (when open) at 33.1112376, -83.6787646, may help to provide current detailed stream (ford) avoidance and/or crossing information.

However, for all that are not aware, one of the very best ways to find current, recent, or historical checklists for any species is to always use the eBird Species Maps which are an incredible and invaluable tool to do so. You can use the Species Maps to show checklists in any month. eBird Bar Charts are helpful too!
How to use eBird Species Maps:
Go to eBird.org
Click on Menu icon at the top right, and then Explore
Click or tap on Species Maps at the bottom center
Login (create a free account first as needed)
Enter species name
Click on the little three dots near the top right
Click on the bluish Year-round, All years
Set the desired Date Range, a blue default or custom, if custom select then click on Set date range at the bottom, if a default then just click on the desired default selection
The desired Species Map will appear
Zoom in as desired until you see the checklist markers, click on each checklist to open and learn more
Once in a checklist click on the back arrow at the bottom left to exit the checklist and go back to the map
Change your date range, move the map, zoom in and out, and click or tap on the checklists to explore further as desired
