There is still plenty of space available on this coming Saturday's, June 7th, pelagic trip aboard "Legacy" out of Seaforth Sportfishing at Mission Bay. The current marine forecast is nice and rather benign. Early June is a good time of year for many of our standard pelagic species, and it is also good for Scripps's Murrelet and Ashy Storm-Petrel. There is a good chance that Craveri's Murrelets will have arrived. Similar early-June trips the past few years have also recorded such rarer species as Cook's Petrel, Laysan & Black-footed Albatrosses, Manx Shearwater, South Polar Skua, and Leach's Storm-Petrel.
Given that it is unlikely the trip will sell out, those of you with sensitive stomachs and inner ears can wait until the most up-to-date marine forecasts are out on Thursday or Friday and still make your reservation. Right now, seas are forecast to be about 2 feet. One could even come down to the dock on Saturday morning and sign up.
