Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] FRNC after 5 pm
We tried to get to the cemetery tonight at 6:45. There are barricades set up at the gates (not normally patrolled) to maneuver around. A police was parked on the right. We stopped and said we were going to cemetery. He said ok and it’s open till 8 pm. While driving south a couple minutes later, a US Navy Police vehicle driving towards us flashed lights and honked and had us pull over. That officer made us turn around and said the cemetery is now closed after 5 pm. We told him the other officer said it’s open till 8 but this officer said, “We have stuff going on up here and you cannot come here after 5.” Soooo who knows, but be forewarned. After we started heading out, the spot of the first officer no longer had him stationed there.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
