Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] Cuylerville: Hudsonian Godwit
The Hudsonian Godwit, first reported by Brad Carlson yesterday morning is still there this morning (as of 7:30) in company with 5 Dunlin, but I did not see the two Black-bellied Plovers that were there yesterday. The Black Phalarope and number of shorebirds that were in the Chandler Rd. (also reported by Brad, near Piffard) were not there this morning - excepting one Semipalmated Plover and a couple Killdeer. I did see a Merlin along nearby Flats Rd. and wonder if it might have chased the others off to another wet spot. The Godwit is in a flooded spot between Jones Bridge and Perry Rd., east of River Rd. One needs a scope to see it well.
