Subject: [SFBirds] Spreckles - gull study opportunity
For those beginning birders who want to make some headway in their gull ID skills there is a good opportunity to do this at Spreckles lake toward the west end of Golden Gate Park.
The spot is easily accessed from 36th Ave. at Fulton.

Dozens up to a couple hundred gulls gather here daily in the afternoon and for the summer months they will be almost all Western Gulls with an occasional sprinkling of a California or two (and possibly an occasional Western x Glaucous-winged hybrid)

By getting themselves familiar with our most common species at various ages they can be ready for fall when the others return.
