Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] White-winged Dove Portofino Circle, Del Mar, Mon. May 19
At about 11 am today,  during a quick bird check along Portofino Circle, I flushed a white-winged dove near the 72-hr parking area. It flew fast in a northeasterly direction and I was unable to relocate it, but possibly could still be perched somewhere in the tall eucs planted behind the eastern sound wall next to I-5.  White-winged Doves are much less common along the coast in spring, than they are in fall, so i was surprised to see it.Sue Smith, Del Mar Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
