Eight birders from two states(AZ, NM) got blown around at the Sierra Vista
Environmental Operations Park but still managed to identify 64 species on a
blustery morning.

Given that, it is not a surprise that the highlight of the trip was not a
bird, but a snake - an excellent look at a sunning Checkered Gartersnake.

Here are the bird highlights!

The White-fronted Goose continues...it should have migrated by now.

7 Lesser Nighthawks flying well after sunrise were a welcome surprise.

15 White-faced Ibis were in the ponds.

3 Spotted Sandpipers joined them.

Seven species of flycatchers: Western Wood-Pewee, Western Flycatcher, Say's
Phoebe, Vermillion Flycatcher, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Cassin's Kingbird,
and 17 Western Kingbirds.

Five species of swallows flying around us - Barn, Bank, Cliff, Northern
Rough-winged, and Tree.

And five species of warblers: Lucy's, Wilson's, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, and
Common Yellowthroat.
