Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] Red-shouldered Hawk warning in nature area of Mile Square
I was walking the path that parallels the south fence line when I was attacked four times by a Red-shouldered Hawk within a 209-300 foot area as I walked - west past the volunteer shed and almost took the west entrance. Three times it just cuffed me with its wing on my hat The third time it hit me relatively hard on my head, knocking my hat off. Others I told said that they have seen a hawk nest in the area, but I couldn’t see it. Other multiple groups of people have not seemed to have this issue, so maybe it’s only attacking singles! Or maybe I just look more dangerous!
Just an FYI warning!!
