I birdied Wyandotte county state lake with Galen Pittman yesterday (5/16).and around Lone star lake (Douglas co) today (6/17). There were a few swainsons thrushes at both locations as well as a couple Tennessee warblers so at least stragglers remain. The resident nesters are active. Our best bird at Wyandotte co state lake was a yellow-throated warbler. At Chicken Creek, a black-billed cuckoo.

Although all of the summer resident migrants showed up on time, the passage migrants have been virtually nonexistent in my yard this spring. One Redstart one Common Yellowthroat and a few Tennessee, Orange-crowned's and Yellow rumps were the only warblers. However, yesterday I was able to photograph a Mourning Warbler in my yard. By far the most interesting migrant of the spring. -- Ted

Subject: Spring migration?
This email originated from outside of K-State.
In the empirical laboratory known as my yard, spring came a bit late this year, and bird migration never really settled in. Probably the least birdy spring in a number of years.
Anyone in Kansas have normal or above normal results this year?
