With the unsettled weather and gusty winds I wasn’t sure how the birding was going to be plus I had limited time since I’m meeting a friend in Columbus for lunch. It ended up being an OK morning although I was disappointed to miss the Mourning Warbler that another birder had seen or heard. He also mentioned a Canada which I also missed but he did clue me in to a Prothonotary which I heard briefly by one of the ponds just before I made a beeline for where he had had the Mourning. He had said a Kentucky was in the same area and I found the Kentucky still singing but no sign of the Mourning. I made a couple swings thru the general area while also checking other spots where I’ve seen them in the past but no luck before I had to leave. There wasn’t time to check Morris Woods or Lobdell where I’ve seen them in the spring as well. Will try those tomorrow.
Except for Com YT, all the warblers were heard only. It’s almost impossible to get on warblers at Denison with all the leaves out and the wind certainly didn’t help.
