Subject: [NEBirds] Lark Bunting in Thurston county!
Nebraska Birders,

While driving from Winnebago WTP to Kramper Lake, Dan Leger and I spotted a
Lark Bunting! Unmistakable jet black bird with a white wing patch. It
flushed from the side of the road and flew into a corn field.

We tried for a few minutes to relocate it in the crazy high winds with no
luck, before continuing to Kramper to look for the Neotropic Cormorant
(which we found!).

According to eBird, this may be a first county record for this
traditionally Western bird. There are only a handful of other records this
far east. I wonder if the strong east winds the past few days blew it in
