Your owlet question got me curious so I looked at some very good NY State Breeding Bird Atlas nesting season data I had from working on it in the mid 80s. For Barred Owl it listed egg dates from 3/23-5/3, unfledged juveniles from 4/14-6/11 and fledglings from 5/13-7/1. Given this data it seems fledgling owls should be just about out of the nest or will be soon.
