Common Tern and Snowy Egrets new for the county. From my birding, Common
Tern is the rarer?? Not sure on that. I have a ways to go learning SW Ohio! The
Tern was at Cowan lake, the egrets - I had three - were at Gleason quarry. The
Marsh there. I also picked up common yellowthroat for the big year. So 142 for
The Clinton big year. I didn’t head out for passerines. Maybe the weekend and
One final push on them. Maybe…… I need Cliff swallow for the county. And
Still need! They must have a nesting colony somewhere in Clinton. No skyponds
Left. Where am I to get shorebirds now in the county…… that Cowan lake spillway
Maybe. Etc.
I started at the Seward rd. Fields in butler county. The best shorebird spot locally
This season. So far. The Wilson’s phalarope is still there! The BB plover and Stilt
Sandpiper were one day wonders I guess. I haven’t been able to refind them.
Birds….. I had a nice look at a WR sandpiper there though.
Ode notes - they were just starting to fly in Clinton. And then the clouds hit
Big time. Ahhhhhh……
Good birding all.
