Never before have I reached the one hundred species mark for this place
so early in the season. And the bird that allowed me to do it was one of
my favorite warblers-the Bay-breasted. The bird was all the way down the
dirt path well beyond the set of stairs, all the way to the old, rusty,
spiked fence and beyond-in that large oak that partially overhangs the
three decker property. I patiently waited for about fifteen minutes. The
bird was singing constantly. Finally, I saw its beautiful features I
birded from 6:00-10:00:

Least Flycatcher 1
Yellow-throated Vireo 1 hanging around in the upper section of the
orchard
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Blue-headed Vireo 1+
Fish Crow x
Hermit Thrush 2
Veery 1
catharus sp. 1 singing;
Bay-breasted Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 2
Blackpoll Warbler 2
American Redstart 4
Nashville Warbler 1
Northern Parula 4+
Black-throated Green Warbler 3
Black-throated Blue Warbler 3
Prairie Warbler 1presumably arrived late during my visit; what amazing
vocals!!!
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1 Iroquois Woods
Common Yellowthroat 4
Ovenbird 2
Magnolia Warbler 4
Yellow-rumped Warbler 1+
White-throated Sparrow 7
Scarlet Tanager 1 adult female
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1
