While Black-headed Grosbeaks are a known summer visitor and breeder in Slo County this morning was my First Of Season for this location. 2 female BHGR appeared together and spent the better part of the day flying around our yard and neighboring trees and bushes. They enjoyed the bird baths and seed that had been tossed on the ground earlier. As soon as I saw the grosbeaks I went out and added some sunflower seeds to our much neglected platform feeder and they were on it in about 5 minutes! One more lovely way to celebrate Mother's Day! 😊
