May 18: Crow-Hassan Park Preserve
7:00 am. Alyssa DeRubeis will lead a field trip at Crow-Hassan Park
Preserve, a superb birding location with diverse habitats located a short
drive west of the Twin Cities in Rogers, MN (Hennepin County). With
hardwood forests, wetlands and extensive prairies, Crow-Hassan is excellent
during migration and hosts an impressive list of breeding species including
Sandhill Crane, Sedge Wren, Wood Thrush, Grasshopper Sparrow, Lark Sparrow,
Henslow's Sparrow, Orchard Oriole and Dickcissel. For more information and
