We went for a nice hike in the Naugatuck State Forest West Block this morning. We saw a total of 55 species of birds, including 16 warbler species. Highlights included: Acadian Flycatcher, Blue-headed Vireo, and Hooded, Worm-eating and Magnolia Warbler. We also got to watch a male Scarlet Tanager take a bath in a stream! Note: the Ravine Trail is washed out and navigable with only great difficulty and significant risk of injury. Best to avoid it.
