I have three females and two males visiting my feeders in Prescott Valley near the redtail district on Hwy 69. It gives me joy to watch them boss the House Sparrows around.

They are everywhere in AZ this year, a good year for them but the dry summer and winter mean not much seed, so they are seeking out feeders. I had 6 at my feeder this morning, I usually see 1 or 2 at the most.. People in Portal are reporting 11 and 14 at a time!

Hi folks,
This morning while out back cleaning bird feeders, a beautiful male Black-headed Grosbeak perched briefly in a mesquite. Only one other sighting in the 15 years we've been here, not far from Sabino HS.
Good birding!Olga HarbourTucson, AZ
