Perhaps known to others but not to me is an area away from traffic on N. Midwest Boulevard east of OKC. I am calling it River Bridge on Midwest Blvd for eBird purposes.
I visited this morning before 0630 until 0700 because I was curious about a sign Closed to Thru Traffic at 63rd and MW Blvd. I believe the bridge has been out south of this bridge for a few years now. This hot spot is about a mile south of the hot spot for the sod farm.
The area is adjacent to woods, running water of the North Canadian River, sandbars, cattle pastures and a lake produced from sand dredging.
This morning I heard and/or saw egrets, herons, crows, geese. Heard indigo and painted buntings, chipping sparrow, white-crowned sparrow, goldfinch, blue grosbeak, wrens and chickadees, brown thrasher. Tally was 24 species in a short time. This would be a good place for a field trip.
