Weather: Very sunny with only a few occasional clouds. Temps started in the 40s and reached a high of 68F. Winds out of the west at 10-15mph.
Raptor Observations: Today was a pleasant day on the platform with a slow but steady movement of raptors. We ended the day with just over 500 birds: 348 Turkey Vultures, 49 Bald Eagles, and 41 Broad-winged Hawks were the main components. All three falcon species were seen, including a beautiful Merlin that flew right over the platform. We were excited to see two Golden Eagles, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Non-raptor Observations: The Blue Jay migration continues with over 3000 birds moving along the lakeshore. A beautiful male Cape May Warbler was in the hedgerow next to the platform. A Cliff Swallow made a couple passes by the platform.
Predictions: Tomorrow will have sunny skies and a high of 54F. Winds NE at 5-10 mph. There will likely be very little movement due to the NE winds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Maili Waters (<mailirwaters...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
