Subject: Wichita Blue-winged Warbler
I tried again for the Common Gallinule at Pracht Wetland Park in Wichita
this morning, which would be a new SG county bird for me, but came up
empty. I then headed over to Oak Park, where it was pretty lively. There
were lots of Yellow-rumped and Orange-crowned Warblers, and I also saw 3
Nashville and a Tennessee Warbler, as well as a Blue-headed Vireo. However,
the best bird was a Blue-winged Warbler, a SG county first for me. So I
scored a county bird after all. I also saw my first Rose-breasted Grosbeak
of the season, and had a White-eyed Vireo singing near the fountain.
