Hello everyone,
This morning, the same party from last month (myself, Olive L, and our
canine companion) observed another Ruddy Turnstone at the end of the
boardwalk at Palo Alto Baylands. Last month, the turnstone we observed was
on a rock that was determined to be in Santa Mateo County. This morning's
bird was situated on debris that is substantially closer than the rock from
our previous observation, making us fairly confident that the bird from
this morning was in Santa Clara County. Information about the specific
debris from our observation as well as the timing with the tides can be
found in our checklist for anyone interested in chasing this bird (a scope
is essential): https://ebird.org/checklist/S229752666
We didn't have time to triangulate the location of this debris, but if
anyone does, I'd be happy to hear what you find.
