There was a group of 10 Swainson's Hawks this morning about 8:45 standing around in a recently plowed field along Hwy 385 in southern Kiowa County, presumably waiting for things to heat up enough to create some thermals to head north on. Others were hanging out on poles along the road. I saw two of them flying around a dust devil, perhaps hoping to ride it higher.
