Hi all, We have been monitoring a pair of Peregrines at UC Davis for the past couple weeks, on the main campus water tower, and yesterday we observed copulation and several other breeding behavior signals that the pair are attempting to nest on the tower. I am fairly certain this is the first ever nesting record on the UC Davis campus and I think this may be the first nesting attempt in Yolo County. The eyrie I know of near Monticello Dam is either in Solano or Napa county.
Does anyone else know of any nesting records for Yolo County? UC Davis Med Center in East Sacramento has a nesting pair, with an egg right now.
The Museum will be tracking the nesting attempt and the upper administration has assured that the pair will not be disturbed.
Thanks , Andy
