I treasure a small 1910 Charles A Reid "Bird Guide  to Land Birds East of the Rockies from Parrots to Bluebirds" I have here. Looking at this bird guide this morning I noted that the first bird listed is one that is long gone. Anyone know what this bird was? A hint is that it was listed as number 382. by the American Ornithological Union in about 1905.
