Subject: [ia-bird] A Guided Birding Expedition at Dunbar Slough, Saturday April 26, 2025
This is just a forward, in case you might be interested in joining a
birding trip on Saturday, April 26, at Dunbar Slough (east edge of Greene
Co.). Information in a press release from the Raccoon River
Watershed Assn. is attached for you below this note. I live only about 28
mi. from Dunbar Slough and bird it regularly, recently finding almost every
kind of waterfowl, plus Hudsonian Godwits, Dunlins, both yellowleg species,
and a Stilt Sandpiper. Other birders recently saw hundreds of American
Golden Plovers. More shorebirds are likely to be appearing there in the
next couple of weeks, so it should be a great birding trip for anyone
interested.
